Major Project: Organ Donation Awareness NI
My project was inspired by my niece Heidi. As she is the superstar of the family, I knew my project would revolve around her in one way or another. Heidi is one of many children currently waiting for a kidney transplant as she suffers from Congenital Nephrotic syndrome, a condition that affects 1 in 100,000 children. The project is aimed to raise awareness about organ donation and the new Daithi’s Law coming into effect in Northern Ireland on 1st June. Through my interactive video project, I invite the audience to consider the significant impact organ donation can have on other people’s lives. The project was designed to make people feel comfortable and at ease with the concept of donating an organ, which I know can be an intimidating topic to talk about. I designed this project keeping the target audience in mind, hoping to reach out to potential donors who may have concerns about organ donation and the new laws. This project is built upon a combination of skills and learning that I have gained throughout my duration of studying Interactive Media over the past 3 years and I’m proud to showcase this work as I thoroughly enjoyed creating it.
